The radar adopts a dual-polarization one-dimensional active digital phased array fully coherent pulse Doppler system, which can quickly detect the intensity, radial velocity, velocity spectrum width and dual polarization parameters of weather targets above the radar.
It has the ability to monitor the generation, development, dissipation and movement status of severe convective dangerous weather systems within 120km.
It can quickly and quantitatively measure the intensity, radial velocity, velocity spectrum width and dual polarization parameters of precipitation targets within a range of 60km, and effectively monitor and warn of disastrous weather such as mesoscale storms, rainstorms, wind shear, hail, tornadoes, and strong winds within a range of 60km.
The radar uses the backscattering, Doppler effect and dual polarization characteristics of electromagnetic waves by precipitation targets to detect parameters such as intensity, radial velocity, velocity spectrum width, differential reflectivity, differential propagation phase shift, specific differential phase and correlation coefficient of meteorological targets around the radar, quickly monitor precipitation distribution and its development and changes, identify dangerous weather, and identify the shape, size and phase state of precipitation particles, etc., to provide accurate and rich meteorological information for meteorological support personnel.
