Operating Instructions
1. Front Panel
The power amplifier front panel includes RF input interface, RF1 output interface, RF2 output interface ,power supply interface, control interface.
1) Signal Input
When the amplifier is in operation, the signal is accessed through the RF input interface to the amplifier.
2) Power Supply
Powered by +28V DC through the power supply interface.
3) Control
Control the amplifier on/off, Attenuator selection, etc. through the control interface.
4) Rear Panel
The rear panel of the power amplifier includes the RF1 output connector and RF1 output connector.
a)
Signal Output
When the amplifier is operating, the signal is output from the ampifier through the RF output interface.
2. Operating Instructions
The system connection block diagram is shown in Figure 1 below.
1) Power-up Operation Instructions
DC power supply voltage is set to +28V, the current is set to 20A, the positive 28V to 7W2 A2 pins, ground to A1 pins, and then 7W2 into the product power supply interface, open the DC power supply, observe whether the voltage and current is normal.
2) RF1 Output and RF2 Output Switch
When SW-CTR Low Level, Rf2 Output;when SW-CTR High Level, Rf1 Output. Defaults:Low Level
3) Attenuator Control
When ATT-XXdB High Level,Attenuator effective;When ATT-XXdB Low Level, invalid,Defaults:Low Level.
4) Power On/Off
When Power on/off Low Level, power amplifier switch off, When Power on/off High Level, power amplifier Power on, Defaults: Low Level.
5) Status Report
When normal state, status report low level; When abnormal state, status report high level.
Operating Precautions
1) The power amplifier frequency range 8-12GHz, over frequency use is strictly prohibited.
2) To avoid damage to the power amplifier, the input power is strictly prohibited to exceed 10dBm.
3) The power amplifier is protected against open circuit and short circuit at the output.,even a total mismatch at the output will not cause any damage. Maximum output power can be obtained when the output is terminated with a load VSWR ≤ 2:1 and meets all index requirements.
4) DC supply voltage needs to be kept strictly within the range of 27-29V.
5) Automatic protection and fault status indication when the power amplifier temperature is abnormal, output power is abnormal, standing wave is abnormal, voltage/current is abnormal.
6) The power amplifier is strictly forbidden to be used without heat sink and fan.
7) When a fault is reported, please check the signal input, gear setting, load connection, etc., and confirm that it is normal before turning on the machine again.
8) Amplifier output connected to inductive and capacitive loads (such as sonar head) is recommended to do appropriate impedance matching, in the load characteristics close to the resistive load, the output power of the amplifier can be effectively reflected.
9) After powering up, the warm-up time should be no less than 3min.
10) To avoid damage to the amplifier caused by unstable noise when the signal source is switched on and off, the recommended power-on sequence is as follows: open the power switch of the signal source → 5s after powering on the amplifier → gear selection → run the amplifier → open the signal output of the signal source → adjust the frequency and output signal amplitude of the signal source as needed; the recommended power-off sequence is as follows: close the signal output of the signal source → close the amplifier so that it is in standby → close the power supply of the amplifier → close the power switch of the signal source.
11) Select the appropriate working gear according to the needs of use. If the gear selection is too low, may lead to the output power can't meet the requirements; if the gear selection is too high, may lead to too high output power, thus damaging the amplifier and load equipment, amplifier output efficiency is reduced and can not provide the required output power. Therefore, it is very important to choose the appropriate working gear. It is recommended that if the output power can meet the demand of the load, the low gear should be selected as far as possible, and it is strictly forbidden to re-select the gear in the running state of the instrument.
Care and Maintenance Precautions
1) Do not disassemble or repair yourself.
2) Protect the amplifier from moisture and rain.
3) For external cleaning, use a cloth dipped in a neutral detergent to wipe the shell, and then dry it with a dry cloth after wiping.
